AREA D - INOU RYOUIKI is a manga that's kind of like x-men in a sense. 12 years ago, on the 26th of September, the Antares went supernova. It became known as the day of Genesis. After that event, many humans began to get mutant powers. They are known as Altered. There are super strong Anti-Altered sentiments, mainly because holy shit a lot of them when criminal-crazy immediately following the day of Genesis. While some of them were working to bridge the gap between Normals and Altereds, things got bad enough that Area D was created. Area D is a prison island where Altered are sent.
One of the "Hamelin Twins" and joint boss of the South district of Area D, Sol has the ability to manipulate emotions through song. She can also manifest black attack thorns with her music. She's tomboyish and very proactive, always the sort to keep going no matter how dire things look, and always willing to try to save others. Her cheerful demeanor hides a deep guilt for her past actions, however.
